  2. Under a directive by the parole division of the DOC, each inmate, prior to release, is mandated to attend the Police and Corrections program. The program addresses issues which may confront newly released inmates. A DMV representative attends program meetings, collects relevant identification from inmates and takes pictures so ID can be issued upon release. However, this card alone does not meet DMV requirements and another form of proof is required along with the ID card.

  2. ID issue handled differently by each county – Bureau of Prisons is working with the Department of Labor to enable the Commissary ID card to be used for identification purposes upon release. In some counties the parole officer will issue a form to confirm identity.
    Some counties are issuing prison ID to inmates upon release and, in some cases, this ID is accepted by various state offices as proof of identification.
